What is Trauma Informed, Holistic and Somatic Counseling?

This approach combines a safe, nonjudgmental space for talk therapy, combined with holistic and somatic modalities. My role is to provide active listening, a nonjudgmental space for healing and practices to increase self-compassion, self-esteem, healthy boundaries and somatic awareness in the body. It is never my job to fix, give solutions, criticize, or judge a client. I do offer observations, “food for thought”, reframing of situations, and help clarifying values. I work in partnership with clients to create goals and a roadmap towards healing.

What is couples counseling?

I’m an Imago Relationship trained therapist, which focuses on helping couples communicate in a healthier way. LGBTQIA+, Kink, Polyamory and CNM couples are welcome. Blue Cross, Blue Choice does not cover couples therapy. Rate is: $175 for 50 minute session.

What is Heart Centered Hypnotherapy?

This form of hynotherapy can only be practiced by Licensed Mental Health professionals. It’s a modality that can be used as part of your therapy journey or as a stand alone treatment for clients not currently in therapy. Hypnotherapy helps the conscious mind to relax and allows clients to enter a deep state of relaxation. Hypnotherapy is very helpful for accessing subconscious beliefs, as well as the parts of our self that we don’t have access to. The goals are to: promote healing, release stress, shift core beliefs to healthier ones, release stuck patterns of behavior and re establish communication with our lost parts. The client is always in charge of the session and can exit the hypnotherapy state at any time.

Do you accept insurance?

I only accept BC/BS. Out of pocket rate for individual sessions: $165 for 50-minute session and $170 for the initial intake.

How frequent and how long are sessions?

Typically, we will meet once a week or once every other week, depending on your individual needs. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. We will discuss length of treatment, as well as knowing when it’s time to graduate.

What happens during the first appointment?

This is the initial intake, where we will discuss what brings you to counseling and your goals.
